MEET NONNIE JULES: Rave Reviews Book Club President!!

Rave Reviews Book Club – Bethany Turner “Pay It Forward” Week – Day Four!

Today, it is my great pleasure to host fellow Indie author, colleague, and good friend Nonnie Jules to the Home page of Fiora Books. Nonnie hails from the great state of Louisiana and is a very accomplished woman! She is married, with two (almost perfect) daughters, and she is the founder and President of Rave Reviews.

Nonnie founded Rave Reviews in December of 2013 with just a hand full of members, and today the club has just over 500 members! Nonnie wished to create an international organization that would have the power to profile, promote, and propel the careers of Independent authors to heights difficult to achieve acting alone. Her motive is service to others, and she devotes very long working hours each day to make her vision reality. Working along side her, since November, on the Rave Reviews Board of Directors, I have seen Nonnie burning the candle at both ends. Her only complaints revolve around fatigue and limited time and energy to devote to her own writing pursuits.

Nonnie’s greatest passion can be summed up into one word: children. The mothering instinct is very strong with her, and nothing upsets her more than to hear about someone’s child, or “baby”, as she puts it, being mistreated in any way. She believes that much of what ails modern society today can be traced back to poor parenting. To that end, Nonnie wrote and published a splendid manual for parents entitled:

The Good Mommies’ Guide To Raising (Almost) Perfect Daughters: 100 Tips On Raising Daughters Everyone Can’t Help But Love!

Published in May, 2013, this book has sold many copies, as a matter of fact, the local Barnes & Noble store in her city cannot keep the book in stock!

Nonnie Jules is also very passionate about good quality writing. For those of us who work closely with her, we are kept to a very high standard of writing with everything we write – as Board members and as authors. This passion is revealed in another book she wrote and published in March, 2014:

NJ Cover Design-1

For those of us who wish to improve our writing skills, this is a no-nonsense approach and is a must read!

Nonnie has proven her versatility as a writer with her other two publications! The first, is her debut novel which delves into the very painful issue of the sexual abuse of children. The book is extremely powerful and difficult to read in parts. I found myself riveted to my chair, all too often. This tome is entitled:

Daydream’s Daughter / Nightmare’s Friend

DDNF1 - Copy

Her latest publication, released in March of this year, showcases her talents as a poet. Poetry is very near and dear to Nonnie’s heart. She not only loves to write poems about things which she is passionate, but she loves to read poetry as well. In this collection, she has collaborated with a new author, Giani Jordan, to present a passionate collection of poems about forbidden love. The collection is entitled:

“If Only There was Music…” The Poetry of Forbidden Love

Nonnie co-authored this collection of love poems. Click on the cover and watch her amazing book trailer!

Beyond her writing talents and club organizational skills, Nonnie Jules owns her own publishing company, 4WillsPublishing. Through 4Wills, she offers such author services as: Social Media Promotion, Manuscript Evaluation, Editing and Proofing, Manuscript Formatting, Research, Express Book Reviews, Book Trailer Creation, Book Cover Design, and Virtual Blog Tours. All of these services are available to Rave Reviews members at discounted rates. The book trailers listed above were all created by Nonnie!

It is obvious that Nonnie Jules is very gifted, and is a power to be reckoned with. This is clearly evidenced when one considers the international reputation and influence of her creation, Rave Reviews Book Club. I am privileged to call her “friend”!
